Home is where the heart is and mine is right here in London.

The city has always felt like home. More homely a times than others but that feeling you get when you arrive in a city and you know everything has laddered up to bring you here and it’s all just right – that for me is home.

And, even luckier for me, this freshly IKEA decorated space is where I get to call home in this beautiful city. Pinterest worthy space, clearly inspired by just a few Scandi-Interior design boards. It also helps that we live with a designer.

However you see those big leaves there – all me. I carried the massive Monstera plants all the way from Columbia Road market last Sunday.

For someone that can barely take care of herself, I’m quite surprised that nearly a week and a half later they are still standing strong. That’s really where people should be getting their resilience inspiration from – Monstera leaves. So far, they are quite the survivors.

no place like home.

Scored a new Snapchat badge for snapping a temperature above 35°C. WHAT.

Welcome to Morocco. A place where it’s hotter than hell, there are beetles and desert wolves just hanging around,

Summer 2016, prime time to visit Africa. First time on this continent and another country to cross off the list. Landed in the gorgeous city and within two minutes I managed to rack up £45 in data expenses. Snapchatting would cease until Wi-fi was found.

Fast forward through the passport line (something I wish we could have done) and into the souks where we searched thirty minutes for our riad. A gem once we found it but needless to say street signs aren’t a priority for the Moroccans. Darmouassine welcomes us with open arms, the MOST delicious mint tea and a selection of Moroccan treats.

Settled into what was pretty much the honeymoon suit, it was time to explore.

First stop: Jardin Marjorelle. Come with us here!

&what | The Shelfie.

I like to surround myself with pretty things. Not just any pretty things, the ones that I have collected over time, with special memories behind each.

Living in London, space is a luxury. However, there is enough space for this shelf. And here, I present to you my #shelfie.

Dipped into some DIY activity for this beaut. Went to the hardware store, picked up some paint to refresh a simple cork board, got a box of nails and voila!

So many memories here. My favourite illustrator – Garance Dore, a hand painted watercolour note from the talented Candice Kaye, Picasso, a few too many photobooth pics, Ganesha statue for prosperity, Buddah for wisdom, Elon Musk because he is epic, Grace because she is elegantly amazing, Jo Malone to always smell like roses (or Mimosa and Cardamom), Alexander McQueen’s Savage Beauty and my camera – right there, ready to go.

A little space that’s all mine.

&what | MAMAN.

Meet Maman.

The cutest French cafe there ever was, taking over NYC, Toronto and next stop: the world.

Aside from this place being absolute magic, the ladies behind this are even more incredible. Candice Kaye the talented designer behind the oh-so Instagrammable print on the cups. Elisa, the brains behind the whole Maman operation.

Two women following their dreams and crushing life. Next time you’re in NYC or Toronto, visit Maman. Pick yourself up one of their delicious pastires and Matcha lattes or stay a little while and sample their French-inspired home cooking.

&what | BE BRIGHT.

Sometimes all you need is a little pop of colour. In the form of lipstick or a bright orange coat. Either will do, just depends how much of a pop you need. Today, a pop in the form of a bright yellow body suit wouldn’t have been enough.

Haven’t worn this coat in a while but stumbled across these pictures and feel inspired yet again to bust this out.Recently my wardrobe has become solely monochrome., taking the ‘all black everything’ a little too literally in my closet.  This bright ASOS special is definitely being worn this weekend!

House of Hackney.

Just off Shoreditch High Street, I’ve walked past this place hundreds of times, meaning to pop my head in but usually in a rush. Probably a good thing as once I stepped inside I didn’t resurface for an hour, lost in the luxury.

The gorgeous prints, fabrics, details, cacti and pineapples (yes, everywhere!) would furnish the house of my dreams. Literally planned out the furnishings for every room of my future London home within the walls of House of Hackney.

Bought myself a little souvenir from my new London muse. Definitely has &what’s seal of approval.

&WHAT | Zig Zag It.

Spring has sprung in London. The pub gardens are full and the sunnies are on – just the way we like it! The sunscreen has even had to make an appearance which living in the UK is a B I G deal.

It’s the greatest feeling the first day of the year you can leave your flat without a jacket and wear ripped jeans without being worried about the draft. They more so act like a little bit of much needed ventilation on 20C+ days.

Went for a walk around the Victoria & Albert Museum with Polly this weekend and wore this spring inspired London Fresh get up. Popped into the gorgeous side streets of South Ken before headings to Raw Press for some smoothies. The sunnies were on, the Zig Zag clutch was out, paired with my favourite Sam Edelman burgundy heels – sandals might be pushing it a bit too far when it feels like March and days of winter coat wearing were only a week ago.

This summer in London is going to be the best one yet! Have a sneaky suspicion – can’t wait for the patio nights, open air film nights and park dates to start. 🙂

&what | Something Blue.

Something blue and a dash of Burberry is all you need to brighten up a day and outfit. Having friends with Burberry benefits makes it just a little sweeter.

When your outfit unintentionally matches the sky (which for girls that have a pretty much full on monochrome wardrobe and living in London is on the daily), it’s the touch of colour that can brighten up any day or outfit. What’s your favourite accent coloured accessory?

&what | Stripes & Stans.

Saturday morning, strutting around Shoreditch in Stan Smiths.

A little too far gone on the trainer wagon, our collection is growing exponentially. We can’t get enough of the acceptable comfiness of this footwear, hoping this trend never changes.

Saturday in Shoreditch involved stuffing our faces at Hoi Polloi in the Ace Hotel – one of our London faves. The pancakes were to die for, and came with maple syrup – a little taste of home. Stumbled upon this lovely park just off the high street with little fairy lights and lots of free benches. So romantic, luckily we had our two favourite men with us at the time – Phillip and Stan (Smith that is).

Outfit details: Hat – TopShop (similar here), Coat – Theory, Top – &OtherStories, Trousers – Rag & Bone, Trainers – Stan Smiths, Bag – 3.1 Phillip Lim.

&what | Brooklyn.

BROOKLYN we go hard. Jay-Z and Santigold inspired this look.

A jumper, heels and ripped jeans. Can’t think of a better outfit to wear out on my last day in Toronto hanging with the bros. We went down to Queen Street West in the evening so I could pick up a birthday present for the boy
f. Nas Illmatic record on his 20th anniversary – gf of the year award. The hipster area of the city, with vintage shops and burger joints behind every other door and store window. I was drooling over the vintage clothes, my brothers over the burgers. 2 against 1, burgers for the win.

I just got this gorgeous metallic blue mini Pashli bag by 3.1 Phillip Lim in New York. We were there for work during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and an uncontrollable treat yoself moment came over me after all our hard work was finished. A little pop of colour never hurts and coincidentally it matched a pair of Zara heels I had tucked away in my closet. Love when that happens.
